What to take with you: walking shoes, mosquito repellant, some money if you wish to buy spices, taste sugar cane juice and other products available at the farm and in Town.

After arriving in Stone Town, the guide will introduce you to all the buildings ofinterest and famous viewpoints. Stone town and its buildings are full of history and stories of the ancient times when Sultans, Arabs, Europeans and Zanzibaris wrote the history of this beautiful island. You will visit the Anglican Cathedral and the Slave markets, the Palace of the Sultans, Tip Tip’s House, the Old Arabic Fort, Forodhani Park and of course the famous Zanzibar Doors while walking in the petite streets. We will show you Henna Art and bring you to the fruit and vegetable market. So be prepared for a walk through the long history of Zanzibar and its numerous rulers. This is a walking tour, therefore it is advised to wear comfortable shoes

A visit to a local spice farm to view and learn about the plants and spices still grown here. You will discover coconut and pineapple plantations, and many other local spice trees. Get a chance to taste and savor local tropical fruits straight from the farm.

During the reign of the Omani Arabs in the early 19th century, Zanzibar was the main slave trading point of East Africa. Slaves bought and caught on the mainland were shipped to Zanzibar, where they were re-sold and further transported to Seychelles, Mauritius, Oman and Persia.

  • • Zanzibar is a predominantly Muslim island. Please respect this when in or around Stone Town. Woman are asked to cover their knees and shoulders.

  • • Please do not purchase any large shells or coral from local vendors as it promotes the destruction of our fragile marine eco system.
  • • Be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
